Playing golf on any one of the beautiful course on the North Coast is a wonderful experience. Even if you don’t get to connect with the ball too often and end up with a ridiculous score, it is the ambience on the courses that is so appealing – for some of us.
Get You Noticed’s Glenda Thompson was recently invited by the North Coast Courier to play in the Ilembe Golf Day (representing client, Hirsch’s, who sponsored prizes and served up delicious smoothies before the game
) at the Zimbali Golf Club. It was a wonderful day, with sightings of an amazing number of small game and raptors – and the green was also seen occasionally!
The day on the course was followed by prize giving (we came in the top ten, so well done team Courier) dinner, and a fantastic talk on GOLF TOURISM in the area.
Exciting news was the announcement that iLembe will host the International Tour Operators Challenge (ITOC): This in an initiative by Ascot Tours, one of the most prominent golf tour operators in the country, and Golf KZN with the support of the iLembe Chamber. The first event is scheduled to take place in December 2016 and will feature our districts four tourist ready golf courses as well as the iconic Durban Country Club. The ITOC will allow KZN, and the iLembe District especially, to gain access to Europe’s top Golf Tour Operators, and their golfing client base. The event will use golf as a vehicle to raise the profile of Kwazulu Natal, and the iLembe District, as a world class golf, tourism and lifestyle destination.
Any business interested in partnering with the event should contact Mike McNamara from Golf KZN on 082 924 5774 or Cobus Oelofse at the iLembe Chamber.
