The Hirsch’s Entrepreneurs workshops, a Get U Noticed initiative
that have been a weekly highlight for established and fledgling entrepreneurs around South Africa since the beginning of the pandemic, closed for the year with feedback from regular attendees on how the workshops have helped them to cope during this trying time. Hosted, free of charge, by Margaret Hirsch, Executive Director of the Hirsch’s Group, and Marlene Powell, award winning Business Coach with ActionCOACH, the workshops will resume in mid-January and will concentrate on helping entrepreneurs to take their businesses from good to great.
The workshops have fielded top notch speakers from South Africa and around the world and attendees have been able to draw on their wealth of knowledge throughout the months. Commented Sarah Swainson, owner of Sarah Elizabeth and Pawfect: “The quote by Benjamin Franklin that “An Investment In Knowledge Pays The Best Interest” sums up these workshops for me. I have attended most of them and have taken great nuggets of wisdom from all of them.”
Shashika Ahamat, Managing Director of Deemas International Trading said that both her business and herself, personally, have grown so much since the start of the workshops. “I have taken so many nuggets and bricks from the workshops, they have been fantastic. At one stage I was told to quit my business – and said no. These workshops have inspired me, motivated me and kept me going and I am now firmly back on track with the courage to move forward with confidence.
Aritha Aleka who owns her own Network Marketing business thanked Margaret and Marlene for the time and energy that they had put into the workshops. “Their energy and commitment have helped me with mine and have boosted me to the next level. It’s been awesome to find new ways to do business, and these workshops have helped hugely. I literally go to bed at night with Marlene’s words of business advice and Margaret’s encouragement and motivation on my shoulders.” She said.
Marlene rounded off by saying that she had loved working with the variety of speakers who had come on board during the year and was delighted to see how many businesses had not only coped, but thrived during lockdown. “It’s been a great pleasure for me to watch how businesses have grown as a result of the owners regular attendance to these workshops.” Marlene has also started up two other networking events to help business owners. BizCAFE B2B Networking Group and ProfitCLUB.
Margaret concluded the event by encouraging attendees to invest in their businesses to grow them. “Plough everything back into your business; build relationships; be pernicious and persistent, and above all think big. We want to help your businesses go from being good to great, and that is what we will concentrate on next year. See you then!”
