The popular weekly Entrepreneurs Workshop, a proud initiative of the Get U Noticed team, that has seen a variety of  experts in their field join hosts: Multi award winning business woman Margaret Hirsch, Executive Director of Hirsch’s Homestores and Marlene Powell, an award winning business coach with ActionCOACH, focused on LinkedIn this week.   With over a million more South Africans utilizing LinkedIn as a business social media platform of choice in the last twelve months, the duo called on  Este Pretorius, a business marketing expert with Boost Sales to join them as their Guest Speaker at the latest workshop.

Este, who has worked on LinkedIn clients acquisition campaigns for some of South Africa’s biggest companies helping them improve their lead generation by at least 36%, said that LinkedIn has seen  incredible growth over the last two years because it is a unique business to business platform and adds huge value to one’s brand.

In a unique show and tell presentation for the over 100 (Zoom) and 1000 (Facebook Live) audience of Entrepreneurs from throughout South African and neighbouring regions, Este explained that LinkedIn is a science, and it changes every day.  She encouraged the audience to focus on key words  and find out what people are searching for.  “You need to find out what’s in it for your clients and potential clients, and not what’s in it for you. Always add a call for action when you post, and on average you should be: posting 5 lines;  use at least five hash tags; respond to every  comment on your post;  and post twice a week.

Marlene, who encourages her clients to find the right social media  platform for their business, said that Linked in was an excellent platform for the coaching fraternity and SMME’s in general.  Margaret pointed out that LinkedIn had always been a great platform for job seekers, but over the  years it has evolved as the place for businesses to interact on a highly professional level. “it’s now a matter of the Mountain going to Mohammed, not the other way round.” She quipped.
