IT’S A DREAM COME TRUE FOR NOLWAZI

After 12 days of excitement, fun challenges, and a whole lot of determination, the ‘Live In A Bed’ competition, powered by Hirsch’s and Suncoast, has wrapped up with an incredible winner! Seven lively contestants – four women and three men – took on the ultimate test of endurance, all while staying cozily connected to a luxurious King Size Rest Assured bed, right in the bustling Suncoast foyer.
The victorious star of the competition was the unstoppable Nolwazi Norleeh, a talented Beautician from Umlazi! She outlasted her fellow contestants, including a close final face-off with Business Management student Yogan Pillay, to win the amazing R100,000, generously sponsored by Rest Assured and Hisense, and a series of vouchers from Suncoast! Prizes for the runners up were donated by Suncoast, Snappy chef, Nespresso, Kenwood and Hirsch’s.
After her big win, Nolwazi couldn’t believe her luck, collapsing in joyful disbelief after conquering the final challenge – a tricky balancing act complete with some fun obstacles! With gratitude shining through her smile, she revealed that she plans to invest her prize in her young son’s education and her sister’s healthcare.
Driven by energy and excitement, the competition attracted over 2,000 hopeful applicants, all eager to show their staying power. The lucky seven finalists were hand-picked from this huge pool, each bringing their own flair, heartwarming backstories, and personal motivations to the competition.
The setup was no ordinary lounging experience! Contestants made a temporary home in a custom-built Perspex square and could only leave for meals and bathroom breaks. The moment contestants returned, it was all about sticking close to the comfy bed. Monitoring their time and contact with the bed were two stalwart guards supplied by Bencorp Security. To keep things lively, contestants were put through a series of creative and entertaining challenges to test just how committed they were to the Rest Assured bed!
As well as Nolwazi and Yogan, participants included Rajit Jurakan, a family man chasing his startup dream; Vanessa Venketsamy, a dedicated mother of two; Genevieve Owen, a singer-songwriter; Yogan Francis, a Business Management student; Sibani Radebe, a client relations consultant; and Liv Juistien, a bubbly promotions executive.
This competition truly brought out the best in everyone, but in the end, it was Nolwazi’s perseverance and positivity that led her straight to victory!
