Appliance and furniture retailers from around Africa visited Hirsch’s Fourways store recently to see how the top independently owned appliance retailer in Southern Africa was run. They were excited to meet with Margaret Hirsch as she was recently the recipient of CEO magazines Most Influential Woman in the Retail Industry for the whole of All Africa. She spoke to them about what it takes to run a successful appliance retail business in South Africa.
The trip to Hirsch’s was organised by Bosch and was part of a four day visit to South Africa that culminated in a conference titled “Seize the Momentum” that was aimed at helping the dealers growing their own businesses. It was apt that Bosch organised the event as their business has grown by 43% in Africa and they are now the second biggest laundry supplier in South Africa.
