Humorous, down to earth, smart and dynamic, with a head for business and a heart for people. These words describe Cindy Norcott – business woman, author, motivational speaker, coach and charity founder. Cindy is the founder and owner manager of Pro Appointments, a multi award-winning recruitment agency based in Westville, where the focus is on placing people in permanent positions in the fields of administration, accounts, finance, sales, marketing, IT and engineering. Pro Appointments is 23 years old and is a rags to riches story of one determined woman starting with very little and growing a brand and a company that is considered one of the market leaders in the highly competitive recruitment industry today. Being hands-on in her business, Cindy has created an entrepreneurial culture with a strong emphasis on teamwork and client service, where her team live out the motto of “having a heart for people”.
In 2005, Cindy started the Robin Hood Foundation, which is a charity that hosts more than 100 community projects per year. The aim of this foundation is to take spare resources from those who have extra and to place these resources directly into the hands of the neediest members in the community. The Robin Hood Foundation has won many awards for community up-liftment and is a household name in the greater Durban area, with well-known and much-loved projects such as Love the Babies, Bless a Granny, Gogo bags and many others. In 2008 Cindy was awarded a Paul Harris award by Westville Rotary for selfless community service and in 2015 Cindy won the Lead SA KZN Hero of the Year award.
In May 2004, Cindy was awarded the BWA Regional Achiever of the Year for KZN. She was also given an award by Sanlam and 3Talk for being the Business Person of the Year in May 2005. Cindy was also nominated as one of the 29 Awesome Women of the Year by Cosmopolitan magazine. In 2013, Cindy was awarded the CEO Communications Most Influential Women in Business award in the services category. In April 2016, Cindy won the Margaret Hirsch Business Woman of the year competition for the Springfield branch.
In 2014, Cindy wrote a best-selling self-improvement book, called “How to be Unstoppable and achieve more in Business and Life” which gives tips to people who are looking to take themselves and their businesses to the next level. Cindy also coaches entrepreneurs to achieve their goals and to be better versions of themselves. She has been a motivational speaker for more than 20 years and inspires audiences into action with her fresh, down to earth manner, her humorous style and sharp yet deprecating wit and her practical and wise advice based on her own successful entrepreneurial journey and achievements.
