DAVID ELLIS – ON MAKING THE MOST OF YOUR WEBSITE.
David Ellis, co-owner of Ballito based Simply Graphic Digital Agency that at any given time works with businesses on five different continents and is Fortune 500 approved, was the guest speaker at the popular weekly Hirsch’s Entrepreneurs Workshop that is hosted by award winning business women, Margaret Hirsch, Executive Director, Hirsch’s and top business coach, Marlene Powell. The workshops are a Get U Noticed initiative.
David’s skill set is to help bring small businesses to life. He explained that businesses need to focus on a strong brand identity before building their websites. “It’s not just about the logo, a brand is an experience. Customers will trust a brand that is consistent. 86% of the population will buy from a brand that they know and trust. Make sure you have a unique selling point for your brand and that you build a strong brand strategy before you consider having your website built. It needn’t be cumbersome. You may just need a page, but people need to know who you are and what you do before they buy from you – and your website is their go to place.” He said.
Bradley Govender the Website Manager for Hirsch’s echoed David’s points on building trustworthiness for a brand and said that whether people buy their appliances from the Hirsch’s shops or online, the website was the “shop window” for the company and it was vital to keep ones website up to date and vibrant. “The majority of people will do research on your website before they make a purchasing decision so it is vital to keep it up to date and current.” He pointed out.
Margaret and Marlene will be joined by Arisha Ramautar who owns her own boutique law firm specifically dealing with legal challenges that entrepreneurs face. Follow this link to join. http://bit.ly/2MbtT28
