WORKING THROUGH THE BUSINESS TOOL BOX TO HELP ENHANCE GROWTH.

WHAT OUR CLIENTS ARE UP TO….

Every quarter,   G.U.N. client, Business Coach, Marlene Powell,  offers her clients a full day of coaching at GrowthCLUB. Marlene, who has owned her ActionCOACH franchise for 14 years explains that

GrowthCLUBs were started to help clients and their management teams put together and prepare their 90 day plan at week 13 of the coaching system. ‘Clients use GrowthCLUB  as a checkpoint with the purpose of the being able  to assess where the business has got to on their long term plan in the last 90 days – and what needs to happen in the next 90 days to move the business forwards towards achieving that plan. We steadily work through the business tool box to see how everyone is coping”

Over the last two years, despite constraints on the economic front, clients that were coached by  Marlene  found ways to recognise that there was definitely light at the end of a rather long and dark tunnel, and the majority ended their year on a successful note.

We recently attended Marlene’s third  GrowthCLUB of the year.  These virtual events are held quarterly and attending them is a bit like attending a personal celebratory workshop.  One gets to think of all the positive, exciting things that one has achieved, and is encouraged to plan ahead for an equally positive three month period in one’s business life, making sure to include a good dash of personal fulfilment.

Most of the clients at this virtual event said that what they enjoyed most about Marlene’s GrowthCLUB sessions was the camaraderie in the group, and the shared experiences and, of course, the nuggets of wisdom shared by Marlene and clients on the call. Here are some:

  • Failure is the failure to participate. Give 100% and you’ll get 100%
  • Find something in common with difficult clients.
  • Look for growth opportunities! You can do this if you have the right people in place to give you space to look for them.
  • Your business needs to bring you quality of life. Make sure you are paying yourself a salary.
  • Use measurement points to indicate how you are achieving your goals in the long and the short term.
  • Setting goals is like a compass for your brain – it gives you direction.
  • KEEP FOCUSING ON THE END GOAL!

Marlene has built up a solid client base, predominantly in  KZN. Not only has she helped her clients to stay on top of their business issues during the pandemic, in a way of giving back to the community, Marlene has also made a point of getting her solid, down to earth advice across to SMME business owners who have battled during this time.  This has been in the form of the weekly Entrepreneurs Workshops that she held with award winning business woman, Margaret Hirsch and a carefully selected panel of guest speakers . Marlene has gone on to start up other networking platforms to help business owners get ahead, including her BizCAFE B2B monthly  Business Networking meetings that are held on the third Friday of the month.
