SYNERGY – CELEBRATING SEVEN YEARS OF JOB CREATION AND PRODUCTIVITY.

It’s great to see a company that is passionate about what they do. It’s equally encouraging to see the difference that they are making to alleviate the unemployment situation in South Africa. The Get U Noticed team caught up with the Synergy Contact Centre to find out more about them and what they do at the grand opening of their new premises – and celebrate their seventh birthday!

According to the Quarterly Labour Force Survey (QLFS), for the first quarter of 2022, the unemployment rate in South Africa was 64% for people aged between 16 and 24.  The national rate stands at 35%.  The youth clearly bear the brunt of the unemployment problem and it is of paramount importance to find ways to alleviate this issue.

Synergy Contact Centre, which was founded in 2015 and celebrated their 7th birthday with the opening of a new branch in Durban recently,  is a company that has taken these statistics to heart and has opened their doors to the youth of South Africa.  Within the last year, they created over 1000 jobs and they have the ability to create a further 500 positions to help make an impact on the youth of South Africa and the South African labour market generally.

Seven years ago, Synergy began their journey with just ten employees in an office park in Nandi Drive, Durban.  Seven years down the line and the company has spread its wings with two buildings in Durban and Umhlanga,  housing its  workforce of 2,500 people servicing multiple blue-chip clients around the world.  Operational engagement includes identifying demand drivers, marketing activity, sales campaigns, product launches, workforce planning and analysis and recommendations to improve performance.

Synergy works in a selection of industry sectors, including retail, Telco and like water and energy. They have four of the largest UK energy companies under their wing, dealing with complex customer service issues.

Commenting on what makes Synergy special, Operations Manager, Damian Moodley who has been with the company since its inception said that the FOCUS ON THE PEOPLE, THE atmosphere and comradery of the staff is what makes the company tick.  “If you enjoy what you do in a convivial work environment you will never actually “work” another day in your life.” Says Damian.
